Second-Year Spots
Although we do not currently have any positions available, and it is not often that we have a vacancy in our second year class, we do invite applicants to apply. We hold these applications, and consider them if a residency slot opens. We will accept paper applications for physicians seeking advanced training. Included in the application should be a letter of interest, photograph, transcript, USMLE scores (Part I, II and III), licensing information, and a copy of your dean's letter. It is advisable for applicants to know how many months of credit the
American Board of Family Medicine
will allow them toward a second-year spot.
Applicants contacted for interviews will be required to provide a reference letter from their prior residency program. If you are changing fields, you may want to consider applying through ERAS for a first-year position. Residency programs often utilize these applicants when searching for a qualified second year candidate, and these applicants have the advantage of possibly having interviewed at the residency program already. If there are not second-year positions, you might still place in the residency program or area you are seeking in a first-year position.
